So when you hear stories about Danish zoos feeding their giraffes to the lions, you now know why. There are different kinds of giraffes and it is incredibly hard to ship them off to different zoos if you need to keep them from breeding between each other, so it’s much better to give their lions a nice meal, than compromise their entire conservation project.
