In dnd, resurrecting PCs becomes so easy at higher levels, and though I think that’s a positive, I really like the idea that dying has lasting consequences or triggers events in a PC. Here’s a simple table of interesting but hopefully not game breaking or character destroying ideas. Thoughts? Improvements?
Remember my tabletop education survey? Using the results of that survey, numerous interviews with teachers, and background research, I created a documentary. While the documentary itself wasn’t all I hoped it would be, it’s time for me to move on to the capstone of my project- taking action.
I am putting together sets of 5e Dungeons and Dragons materials (a Player’s Handbook, Dungeon Master’s Guide, and 4 sets of dice) for 4 local libraries (I chose 5e because it is particularly popular and not all that difficult to learn). These sets can be checked out or played at the libraries, themselves. The idea behind it is to make tabletop games more accessible to people who don’t have the means of buying their own supplies, or people who just want to try out the game and are unsure about making an expensive commitment.
That’s where you come in. I’ve gotten approval from the libraries and run interest checks, but I don’t have the money to put together the sets.You can help by donating through my Ko-Fi. I have a goal on the page that explains about the project and displays my progress.
What do you get out of it? Well, I’ve been working on an Underwater Adventures PDF for quite some time. If all goes as planned, it will include 5 underwater races, 10 or so ocean themed magic items, and plenty of ocean themed trinkets. If the project is funded, I’ll finish and publish the Underwater Adventures on my blog! The content “unlocked” isn’t exclusive to those who donated, because it will be on my blog. With that said, donators will have their names listed in the PDF credits. To have your name listed, make sure you tell me what name you want when you make your donation or over message!
Why not run a Kickstarter? Kickstarter takes a cut from profits, and I don’t want to bother with it when I already have a Ko-Fi set up.
