Inspiration: Rib and Spine Art Costume by TRMN

Updated Links 2019

This creation, titled “the Rib Blouse”, is by Japanese photographer TRMN. The Japanese to English translation is really poor, but it look like this art piece is made out of leather and ribbons.

From Lost in E Minor here:

For those into avant-garde fashion, this ‘rib-cage’ top should command your immediate attention. It was originally designed by Japanese illustrator Tetzco for a collection of illustrations he called ‘Internal Organ Neurosis’.

The drawings incorporated bones, muscles, internal organs, blood vessels and various other body parts to produce some ingenious and rather out-of-this-world clothing.

They, in turn, inspired a Japanese photographer who goes by the moniker TRMN. She took it upon herself to transform one of Tetzco’s illustrations, titled Rib Blouse, into an anatomical reality.

the fact that at the council of elrond glorfindel is like “just throw the ring into the ocean” is so funny to me after reading the silmarillion just because it feels like the subtext is him being like “yeah let’s try maglor’s patented and tested method: Just Yeet The Accursed Fucking Thing Into The Water”

himrings

#in fairness they do do literally the other fëanorion approved method of magical item disposal #glorfindel: we could do like maglor and throw it in the ocean? #elrond: no we’re doing like maedhros and jumping into a volcano via @lesbianlanval

frodo baggins the iconic reluctant hero who saved the entirety of arda deserves so much better than “sam gamgee is the real hero” i said what i said

captainjennhart

#yes!!!!!! its not that sam’s contributions shouldn’t be appreciated #but frodo bore like impossible psychological torment and despair #and yet clowns still act like this because #he does actually crack and struggle under the stress #and he doesn’t have some aragorn style battle scene #but GO OFF i guess

thranduils

“Frodo deserved all honour because he spent every drop of his power of will and body, and that was just sufficient to bring him to the destined point, and no further. Few others, possibly no others of his time, would have got so far.” –J. R. R. Tolkien, Letter 192

the-artifice-of-eternity

Let’s be real, at least half the reason people refuse to see Frodo as the “real hero” of the story is because he actively chooses non-violence and mercy.

I remember some YouTube commenter writing “Frodo is so overrated, he never even kills anyone” and if that doesn’t win the award for Most Impressive Failure to Get the Point, I’m not sure what does.

#tbh I adore sam gamgee#but he would throw hands if he knew people were praising him by putting frodo down via @the-artifice-of-eternity

some little hobbit child listening to a story: geez did Frodo even do anything

all the adults in the room: no doN’T

samwise gamgee vaulting in through the window: FIRST OF ALL

whetstonefires

i just pictured Sam somehow managing to do this despite having been dead for like 500 years.

he just. reanimates and jumps through windows whenever anyone trash-talks Mr. Frodo. he is a plump, truculent ghost with a saucepan and a grandfatherly scolding on hand at all times.
