The face of someone who managed to sleep the whole night through for once (thank you, neighbours, for kindly shutting up), and was woken by sunlight falling through the windows.
"Why does the third of the three brothers, who shares his food with the old woman in the wood, go on to become king of the country? Why does James Bond manage to disarm the nuclear bomb a few seconds before it goes off rather than, as it were, a few seconds afterwards? Because a universe where that did not happen would be a dark and hostile place. Let there be goblin hordes, let there be terrible environmental threats, let there be giant mutated slugs if you really must, but let there be hope. It may be a grim, thin hope, an Arthurian sword at sunset, but let us know that we do not live in vain."
I was wondering how I could safely store my facial masks while I’m travelling to visit family, so I bought a two-tier box that is meant to store sliced cheese and ham in the fridge. It seals tight, is dishwasher safe, and I use it to store my facial masks in it - disposable medical ones on the top, and reusable/washeable cloth masks on the bottom.
Obviously only fresh/washed masks go in the box - I have two water-resistant pouches with ziplock bags inside in my purse/backpack at all times: one for used masks, and one for at least one fresh backup mask.
I prefer using the reusable ones, but some places require us to wear disposable medical masks, so I like to have a few of those at hand as well. Two of my cloth masks are selfmade, and all are machine washeable at 60 degrees Celsius or higher.
(Note that I’m following what is being recommended for my specific area and living situation.)
So quite a while ago I asked in a post what kind of fanart I should draw next -
@inessencedevided wanted “Flowers”, and then I recalled that I was too afraid to draw a greenhouse when @waltzing-marionettes asked for one for a Secret Santa and @yourfavouritedoll basically was like “Draw one”. and I vaguely recall @bilboo and I talking about Lan Wangji and gardening (I believe it was in the context of hellebores)…
…so I ended up mooshing all of the above together. It’s only a partial view of a greenhouse though.
I imagine Lan Wangji cultivates (ha!) plants that are not only pretty, but also useful, be that in the kitchen, or for medicinal purposes. So on his shelf he has:
Top shelf: Onions
Second shelf: Thyme and lemon balm
Third shelf: Mint, marigold and chamomile
Lowest shelf: Rosemary, sage, and lavender
Not sure what the hanging plant is though.
Quick disclaimer: I’m not necessarily good at drawing plants, and I didnt look up when one plant blooms in relation to the other, so, uh, there might be some inconsistemcies. The main objective was to use existing plants that look good next to each other, and can be used in some capacity.
In this post, we write about how a timeline helps you plot a novel.
Making Sense Of The World
History is neither simple nor linear, but when we show events in a timeline they seem to make sense. We see the results of cause and effect when we show sequences that exist in relationship to each other. We see patterns, turning points, and progressions.
