What do you do when you want the merch but can’t afford the merch? You DIY the merch!

I’ve always had a thing for those little objects and trinkets that make fictional worlds feel ever so slightly more real. And since I’m a huge Harry Potter fan (and an actual child in the body of a seemingly responsible adult), I’ve always wanted a Hogwarts ID card. I came across Muggle Magic’s Youtube channel and video on how to make one - plus templates because, let’s be real: sometimes we don’t feel like designing all of the DIY stuff ourselves. Since I’m too old to actually attend Hogwarts, I turned my card into an Alumnus Club member card - I’m convinced Hogwarts has one. I’ve also laminated my card since I’m infamous for spilling things on my stuff. The card holder itself would make a pretty cool business card holder, or even a nice gift envelope for a dainty necklace or something of the like.

Creating characters in short stories is the same as creating characters in novels, but once again, when dealing with a reduced word count we have to make our writing work harder. We don’t have 80 000 words to develop a character arc.

How can we work with a reduced count and still have a fully developed character?

CONFESSION:

This is Dragon Age related since I used to complain about silly
insignificant cosmetic things.
After reading the book Blood, Sweat, and Pixels which is about
what goes on in game development I will never complain about
silly things again.

That book made me see things differently. It also made me
see how selfish as I was and how a great many in this fandom
live in a bubble.

Everybody should read this book.   Maybe the some of the
shallow and insignificant complaints would diminish.
Game development is not as easy as people make it out to be.
