Update on the job thing -

I’ll be officially starting on March 1st! They will send me the contract via mail so I can read it and call them should there be any questions, and I’ll sign it when I first come in. As it stands now i’ll be working three times a week - Mondays and Wednesdays from 8 am to 5 pm, and Fridays from 8 to 12. I may however have to attend press conferences outside of my office hours now and then, and my schedule may be reshuffled at some point.

(This is part time; I’m replacing someone on maternity leave for the next 11 months, and I’m scheduled to work for 20 hrs/week, just as they did.)

I’m 31 years old, and I’ll be signing my first employment contract. This is late to many…I mean there are people who start working before they even hit their 20ies. I just happened to take a few detours and study for longer, and I’m so lucky that I’m employed only four months after receiving my diploma. Even if this is only a temporary job - it’s a job, it’s not a bad one, it’ll put food on the table, give me experience in the work field, and look good on the résumé. Who am I to complain? :)

So, I had my second job interview today.
I got a call back tonight.

I GOT THE JOB!!! :D

I still can’t believe it; I got it I got it I got it! *hops up and down*

It’s a part-time job for 11 months to replace someone on maternity leave, but hey, a job is a job! I’ll be the Communications Officer for the local nature and wildlife conservation syndicate. I will sign the contract next week, and I am scheduled to start at the beginning of March. 

I’m just - aaaaaaah!

For those of you wondering if I finally did get my robes -

Y E S. :D

The robes are a tiny bit small on me because I have way too much boobage, but I don’t care. And I currently don’t have a grey jumper, but I thought the green cardigan would look fancy as well.

Oh, and the headband is also new; it’s just not as interesting.

Also for those curious about the job interview?

I had  to do language tests (German, French, English, Luxembourgish), and I wasn’t too worried about them. I had to write articles about scientific topics, and now it’s up to the correctors to decide whether my style and aptitude is good enough for them.

Then I had to take an InDesign and Wordpress test, and…well. It’s been ages since I’ve worked with both, so I was slightly worried. Still not sure how well I did. Everyone was really nice to me though.

They have conferences every month where they set up the plan for the following one, and decide about who they’ll recruit and who gets transferred and the like, which means I’ll be notified around February 13rd to see whether or not I got the job.

I went home, and the first thing I did was puke. That’s how nervous I was. XD
And hey, even if I don’t get the job - I know I went in trying my best, and I’ll try again.
