‪GOD I found another article about why ADHD kids say “I don’t know” so much. my entire childhood was getting yelled at for doing some ADHD shit and me not being able to offer an explanation when asked why I did something. ‬

Adding to this, its cause of our executive dysfunction and emotional dysregulation (naturally there’s more things at play than just these two but I’m naming main aspects).

We tend to have alexithymia, meaning we have difficulty identifying and describing own feelings.

You can’t say how you feel if you legit don’t know.

Self monitoring is an executive function; our self awareness about how we are doing presently .. which is hampered in ADHDers

You can’t say what you think if you legit don’t know.

Neil Gaiman Writing Advice

Picked up my mum from hospital yesterday evening. She’s still a bit tired, but is otherwise fine.

First thing I asked was if I could pick up some groceries for her.

“No, the fridge is full, but for the love of God, please - do make me some mashed potatoes. The stuff we got at hospital was just good enough to plaster walls with.”

Which says enough about my mashed potatoes (everybody loves ‘em).

Absent from November 11th to November 18th

I got lucky this year and can afford a second holiday - a very cheap one, not far from here, but nonetheless a week of no work and relaxing.

We should have wi-fi where we are staying, but just in case it doesn’t work properly? That’s why I won’t be online that much (or not at all).

For the Godchild Secret Santa: I will respond to any sign-up that I receive, but it may take up to after November 19th. Please bear with me.

Haven’t lived there in years, just grew up there, but Galveston, TX. Super bizarre little Gulf Coast island that combines the world’s shittiest beach and a metric fuckton of stunning Victorian and Gothic architecture along with lots of history of death, gambling, and ghost pirates. It’s a a liminal space.

Things that happened to me yesterday:

- Our cleaning lady, who helps my mum every two weeks, was there yesterday, so I had to visit my mum at the hospital later than I had wanted to (the visiting hours are until 8pm, so it’s fine). At the bus stop back home I met a woman who asked if I could help her with the bus she needed to take. Told me she’s from New York, and we ended up chatting for a while. Such a nice lady; I hope she got to her destination safely. I love these kinds of interactions.

- I had a cat-shaped glitch in the matrix. Sort of.
So I explained before how a young black cat likes to hang around at our garden, and comes for pets and belly rubs whenever either my mum or I am at the front door, and sometimes even wanders into the house? And sometimes acts really scared when we try to approach her?
Well yesterday I saw her when I came home, so i sat down on the steps of our house, and she came, happy tail and meowing, to jump on my lap and get pets. This went on for a few minutes, and suddenly I hear a meow from my left, and from under a car comes -

the same black cat that was sitting on my lap.

Same body type, same type and length of fur, same facial structure, same eye colour, same height, same freaking meow. I thought I was losing it for a solid minute.

Turns out there’s at least two of them! i suspect them to be from the same litter; it was plain as day that they’re very familiar with one another. This explains why she sometimes was extremely cautious and shy around us while, on other occasions, being practically glued to us - not the same cat. I can’t tell them apart for the life of me.

They’re both super adorable though.

A little conversion of the Bow Gown from TS4 City Living Pack. I’ve been mulling over how to make this work, especially with the sheer parts of it, but I think it came out pretty well :)

It comes in the original TS4 colours and is available for teens-adults and shows up in the formal wear category only; the shoes are simple pumps and you can choose between having the teen textures slaved to the adult ones or not. The bottom of the skirt does clip a little bit - sorry about that. There’s no PSD but there is a white recolour to work off if peeps want to make more colours. Enjoy~
