Sooo, guess who went to see “The Battle of the Five Armies?” *cries*
I´ve seen it twice so far, and a third time is probable. The first movie is still my favourite, and I somehow disliked the second one.
There are some things in the third movie I didn´t like or miss, but overall I enjoyed it very much.
Even if I ended up crying like a baby. That movie turns me into an emotional wreck.
See, I associate the Hobbit movies with a group of very dear friends, and though we still have other mutual interests, the Hobbit will always be something that links us together in a special way. It was hard to say goodbye, especially when you feel at home in that universe…
Though I know that there will never be a real goodbye. As long as the stories are being loved there will always be an open door.
So. Bilbo. I began with Thorin as my favourite character (liked him less in the book, but I thought he was still very interesting), but he quickly had to share that place with Master Baggins. I see much of myself in him; I might not have as much courage - or maybe I just need to find it? - but personality wise, I´m clearly a Hobbit at heart. Gotta say, I think Martin Freeman was perfect for that part. He kind of has that genuinely curious, slightly innocent look that reminds me so much of a nosy little hedgehog. His acting is brilliant in the third part, and so is Richard Armitage´s. Pay attention how those two interact when you watch the movie: it´s brilliant.
So it is with a bit of a heavy heart and a teary eye, but still smiling, that I present you this picture. I´m not 100% satisfied with how the face turned out; I still need practice. Gusess you never stop learning.
