BBC One, you so funny.
I´ve just got my appointment for my driver´s licence theory test set up and confirmed. By me. Via phone.
I feel ridiculously adult.
Hm, not that bad after all, though I feel a bit of pity for the two on the left. XD
But hey, it was my first time doing these. I´ll get better. Also did I use apple-cinnamon marmalade instead of the apricot preserve, and it´s just as yummy.

You know that I sometimes love to share personal things, and today I found a little something under a couple of flat files. I knew it was there al along, but each time I rediscover it I can´t help but smile.
Do you have any favourite things? Like little trinkets or keepsakes that you cherish because they´re full of memories and stories and smiles?
In my case it´s a book.
In German those books are called a Poesiealbum, which translates into poetry album. It´s a book with blank pages, in which friends can write little poems or sayings and/or draw something. Apparently poetry albums are out of fashion, but I still love mine, and some special people will have it handed over by me to write into it.
Mine looks like this:

It´s a Paperblanks Generation edition with a famous page from the book of Kells as cover, and its pages are lined. It was rather expensive (as most Paperblanks are), but I´ve wanted something special.
My mother used to have one too, but she gave it to a friend and never got it back. It also had family members´ writing in it. My own album has entries made by some high school teachers – no joke. I loved my high school, and some teachers became really good friends – some actually never found the time to write into it, which is really sad – others were glad and seemed honoured to do so. You know those kind of teachers who make you reconsider the way you look at things, in a good way? Who understand your passions and dreams, and actually supports them? Those kind of teachers were granted the honours to write into it.
One of my German teachers wrote a nice German poem into it with a few personal words – and pasted a self made piece of handicraft into it.

One of my Latin teachers – a beautiful young woman with a huge, contagious passion for what she was doing and a nice warm laughter – wrote me two pages – IN LATIN! Quotes and personal stuff in freaking Latin! The funny thing is probably that I can still translate it, lol.

Then my wonderful friends. I went to a Catholic girls school, and one of them now studies theology and archaeology in Israel – she has always been very spiritual, and her text is imbibed with religious imagery and it´s very very personal. My girlfriend also made an entry and drew me an adorable little angel, but my camera hates me and didn´t want to make a decent picture of it. Anaïs, another friend of mine, llustrated her poem – written in French – with this cute little elephant

And then there´s skellingcrow´s entry:

It´s an epic poem, but what I love most about it is this fire-breathing fierce Snail Of Doom. XD I rarely laughed as much as the moment I saw this.
abschaumno1´s and devilishangel4eva´s entries look similar in structure – this is Sylvie´s entry – my camera still hates me, but you get it, text only, no pictures:

I love those entries equally. Alex´s entry is composed of a self made poem and some Les Mis quotes and musings about how we´re going to laugh our butts off about this when we meet again in 20 years. Sylvies entry also features a self composed poem and a few personal words.
All of these entries are pure starlight to me. When I´m sad this is what I look at. When I´m nostalgic and feel lonely this is what I go back to. I recall every moment I´ve spent with them, and how happy we were together, and how wonderful it´s going to be when we meet again. It gives me something I can look at reminding me of friends I won´t meet again for whatever reason.
I doubt I´d be ever be able to fill all of its pages, mostly because I am very selective of who would be allowed to write into it. I know a few people who I´d definitely ask if they´d love to write or draw me a lil´ something should I ever go to the States. Until then this will be one of my most cherished possessions.
I´m curious, do you have something similar?

Just decided to finally look at my grades and realised I got a 67/100 on my Queer Lit essay… I guess I can be proud of myself for that one.
Cosplay progress! :D
To be worn with this: (costume) (wig)
Soooo. Sweet tried on her Hobbit ears today!
Mainly to see if I´m allergic to the glue - had them on for a few hours, seems I´m not - and to fit them in size.
(My mum had the best of reactions to this -
Mum: “Are you going to dress up as a Hobbit?”
Me: “Yeah.”
She: “COOOOOL! *.* “ ))
The next step is going to experiment with how to apply make up to blend them with my ears more naturally.
First of all - I´m wearing zero make up, so I know I look bleh. XD
Secondly, the wig is far less entangled than it looks here - it still needs some styling but yeah.
And thirdly - my phone still takes crappy pictures. But whatever. :D
Things I´ve learned:
- Apparently my right ear is larger than my left. I had to cut off quite a bit of latex from the right one to have both eartips look the same size.
- Also I look hilarious without the wig, with the ears on, seen from the front. Get me those ears one size larger and I could easily cosplay a deer. XD
- Alcohol solves all your problems - I mean rubbing alcohol, not the one of the drinkable kind.
Also as you can see I purchased two cheap-ass but really pretty looking flower crowns to go with the wig.
Personally I do prefer the white one…what do you guys think?
Also - did I show you how hella cute my 3DS XL looks lately?
Got the case from here.
