Quarantine Asks: Questions You Usually Wouldn’t Think of Asking But You’re Bored AF

Lololol, I was about to transfer some files from my laptop to my external hard drive when I came across this -

This was 2015.
This was me. As a Hobbit. At my very first big convention ever.

The wig has since then died, and I’d have to redo my Hobbit feet - they’re in my bag in this shot; I didn’t wear them outside, they were too flimsy for that - but I’d love to create an updated version of this for next year, maybe. It’s the only cosplay I felt super comfortable in. I actually got recognised as a Hobbit multiple times, despite not cosplaying as an established character, which made me, like, super proud (I am hella short; pretty sure that helped. XD)

I think I’d still use the same skirt and red overshirt, but possibly a different blouse and jaclet, if the yeather allows. And I’d have to make a new apron.

Decided to try my hand at some quarantine crafting. The masks we got from government aren’t eternally reusable; since this thing is cotton I can throw it in the wash at high temperatures.

Cut up an old t-shirt of mine that I wanted to donate, rather than use new fabric. The bands for the ears are elastic, but if you don’t mind tying them in the back rather than looping them around the ears you could use string, sew bands from the rest of the t-shirt, or even use shoelaces.

I can’t sew to save my life, but I followed a Youtube tutorial that made it surprisingly easy.

I’m not much of an artist and the scale of these is probably off, but I drew some maps for my Hermitcraft Fantasy AU because I wanted to keep track of where everything is in relation to each other. And also because I love fantasy maps.

…YEAH OKAY my hand might have slipped okay? I am aware that there are pictures of Wang Yibo in full Thranduil cosplay floating around the internet (thank you, @fleetofshippyships for showing me those gems), but I just couldn’t stop thinking about this. Plus I wanted to try and kind of…I don’t know, marry Lan Wangji’s aesthetic to that of Thranduil, all while keeping it distinctively Lan Wangji? No idea if I managed that. XD

Oh yeah, and Art Nouveau. We know by now how I feel about Art Nouveau.

Probably a very dark purple…or a shade of teal.
Soft baby pink or pastel lavender would also be cute, but my natural hair colour is very dark, and I’d hate to bleach it a ton.

27.  your favourite flavour and brand of tea

It’s not so much the brand as the flavour, really. I love floral and fruity teas, anything that’s sweet (with the exception of Moroccan Peppermint, maybe). I love love love my strawberry elderflower tea, and my lavender cinnamon licorice tea…but I recently had a China Fancy White Peony, which is a sort of white tea…peace in a cup. Such a beautiful flavour!

Hmmmm, I don’t have a picture of it now, but I crocheted my first bunny plushie! The embroidered face is terrifying though, so I’ll probably redo it, but the fact that I had the patience to finish such a thing…I’m really proud of it for some reason.

12.  if you could make a candle that smelt like anything, what would you pick?

Petrichor, probably. Or the scent of freshly fallen snow.
